alpha

Finally returning to live performances in 2022 after many years of hiatus, the award-winning beatbox ensemble Algorhythm were extremely excited to perform various new covers to sell-out audiences across the UK.

Following a year of successful shows, they are now releasing a studio album of these songs produced, edited, mixed, and mastered by Nathan.

Meet Me In The Sky

As a celebration of the group's 10th Year of existence, their victory at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella 2023 UK Final, as well as their win at the Open A Cappella Competition 2023, Durham University's Northern Lights released their debut album Meet Me In The Sky.

As part of The AC Product, Nathan edited tracks for the album, and it was subsequently nominated for 4 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs), and featured on the Voices Only 2023 compilation album.

Red Hot

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, in the summer of 2021 Nathan performed in, arranged for, recorded, produced, and edited an 8-song studio album with the internationally-acclaimed University of Bristol collegiate A Cappella group The Bristol Suspensions

The album went on to be nominated for a total of 10 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs) - highly considered as the 'A Cappella GRAMMYs' in the community - and won 4 awards, including the most esteemed "Best Mixed Voices Collegiate Album" and "Best European Album", alongside "Best Scholastic Debut Album", and "Best Funk/Disco Song".

Additionally, Faith opens Varsity Vocals' BOCA 2022 compilation album, alongside the best A Cappella tracks of the year.

Hang All The MistleTones

In the holiday season of 2021, Nathan mixed and mastered a Christmas single for King's College London's award-winning A Cappella group The Rolling Tones. The track went on to be nominated for a Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award, earning Nathan his eleventh CARA nomination within the first year of being a freelance audio engineer.

In Case You Don't Live Forever

To celebrate Mother's Day 2022, Nathan arranged an A Cappella cover of Ben Platt's In Case You Don't Live Forever, alongside musical director Rosa Witts. Following studio production from Nathan, the track was played live on BBC Radio throughout the day and the music video was featured in multiple news articles.

Year to Remember

One of Nathan's first major vocal edit commissions, Harvard University's oldest A Cappella group The Harvard Krokodiloes celebrated their 75th Anniversary in 2021 with a colossal album featuring members from across every single generation of the group.

The album is split into two, with a total of 38 tracks and including well over 100 members from the 1950's right up to current group.

ITV's This Morning

After The Bristol Suspensions were crowned UK A Cappella Champions in 2021, they were commissioned by ITV to arrange, record, and produce a cover of This Morning's opening theme in just over 24 hours. The track was then broadcast on national television across the country to open the show, followed by members of the group being interviewed. Nathan also subsequently appeared on the BBC to discuss the groups' competition win.

 LIVE TRACKS

Dawn

In March 2024, The Bristol Suspensions released their live EP Dawn, alongside accompanying music videos from their performance at their End of Year concert. The group performed Saweetie and NIKI's "Swan Song",  Lauv's "Julia", and Justin Timberlake's "Say Something", and it was produced by Algo Productions. Additionally, Nathan arranged "Julia" alongside Rosa Witts.

AXIOM Live at LUKAS 2022 Winter Edition

In November 2022, a variety of semi-professional A Cappella groups gathered for the Winter Edition of the London A Cappella Showcase, including the award-winning AXIOM. The group's performance of Cody Fry's "Underground",  Robbie Williams' "Kids", and Welshly Arms' "Down To The River" was produced by Algo Productions.

Algorhythm Live at LUKAS 2022 Winter Edition

Also featuring at the London A Cappella Showcase was the beatbox ensemble Algorhythm. Nathan performed in and later produced their cover of Imagine Dragons' "Cutthroat" as part of Algo Productions.

AXIOM Live at The OAC 2022

Following their win at the Open A Cappella Competition 2022 in Warwick, Nathan edited AXIOM's 10-minute live set alongside a 4K music video produced by The AC Product. Each song featured in the set is available on all major streaming platforms.

Aquapella Live at BOSW 2022

In March 2022, the University of Bristol A Cappella Society hosted their annual Best of the South West showcase, which Nathan had helped organise multiple times in previous years. At the concert, the University of Bath's award-winning collegiate A Cappella group Aquapella covered Lake Street Dive's "Baby Don't Leave Me Alone With My Thoughts", and had their performance produced by Nathan as part of The AC Product.

The Bristol Suspensions Live at the 1532 Theatre

Following an extremely successful year and just before embarking on an award-winning sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2022, The Bristol Suspensions performed their entire collection of new repertoire at the groups' annual End of Year concert. All songs across the year had been arranged by Nathan alongside musical director Rosa Witts, with Nathan producing their cover of NSYNC's "It's Gonna Be Me" (inspired by the Lawrence/Brasstracks version) into a live music video.

Northern Lights Live at the Durham Gala 2022

Durham University's mixed collegiate A Cappella group Northern Lights performed at the Durham Gala 2022, and subsequently had their 7-song performance produced into a virtual show by The AC Product

Livin' La Vida Loca (Live)

After an intense music video filming weekend for another project, award-winning beatbox crew Algorhythm wound down by setting themselves a challenge: arranging, rehearsing, and recording this cover of "Livin' La Vida Loca" from scratch in just under 4 hours. The mostly-improvised live session was then produced by Nathan as part of Algo Productions.

ARRANGEMENTS

Toy

Earning the UK Beatbox Ensemble Algorhythm 3rd Place at the Open A Cappella Competition 2023, Nathan's arrangement of "Toy" by Netta, alongside Rosa Witts, encompasses all of the wacky Eurovision energy from the original, but taken to the extreme in every regard. The song traverses through multiple genres, and utilises almost every sound that Algorhythm can make with their mouth.

still feel.

First performed at Algorhythm's debut live performance at the London A Cappella Winter Showcase 2021, Nathan's arrangement of half-alive's "still feel." was later released as a single in 2023, with accompanying music video. Nathan features as a soloist, bass, tenor, and vocal percussionist.

Flying

In the 8th Year of The Bristol Suspensions' existence, musical director team Rosa Witts and Nathan arranged an 18-part cover of Cody Fry's "Flying". The group went on to perform it at multiple sell-out shows across the UK, including their award-winning Edinburgh Festival Fringe run On Wednesday's We Wear Maroon. Whilst the track was never publicly released, an example of Nathan's learning-track production can be found here.

The Heartburn Song

Alongside 3 other members of The Bristol Suspensions, Nathan co-arranged the group's virtual entry to the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) 2021, alongside editing, mixing, and mastering the track. The music video crowned the Suspensions UK Champions of A Cappella, and won multiple awards along the way for outstanding arrangement, vocal percussion, and audio.

Want Me Back

During the depths of a national lockdown in 2021, Nathan took one listen of Cody Fry's Want Me Back and instantly knew it could be a certified god-tier A Cappella track. He finished the arrangement after just 2 days, and after a few polishes alongside assistant musical director Rosa Witts, it landed its place on the group's multi-award-winning album Red Hot. It may well be the only A Cappella track ever produced featuring a funky slap bassline split between bass and baritone.

Rise

After winning a National Vocal competition in 2021, The Bristol Suspensions received a bespoke original song written for them by Rachel Walker Mason and Nina Sundstrom. It was then arranged for A Cappella by Nathan and the musical director team at the time, Rosa Witts and Robbie Armstrong. Rise was the group's first ever original song and music video.

Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

For the holiday season of 2020, Nathan arranged a jazz-infused cover of Darlene Love's Christmas hit, featuring barbershop influences and a reharmonised scat section. He subsequently edited, mixed, and mastered the track alongside the music video produced by The Bristol Suspensions, which came 2nd in an A Cappella MV holiday competition run by The Rolling Tones.

PERFORMANCES

Castle

In their first year of existence, beatbox crew Algorhythm reached the semi-final of Varsity Vocals' Open Competition 2021, with their cover of Halsey's Castle. The arrangement, contributed to by each member of the group, features a multitude of extended vocal techniques, such as subharmonic singing, overtone singing, and whistle notes.

Nathan appears as the final chorus soloist, as well as providing both tenor backing vocals and auxiliary vocal percussion parts.

Churchyard

The beatbox super-group Algorhythm was formed in October 2020 after a collection of the UK's finest vocal percussionists realised the A Cappella scene was missing a group dedicated to showcasing techniques from the beatbox world.

Their first ever cover, Churchyard by AURORA, blew up on social media and was acclaimed by AURORA herself, as well as multiple professional beatboxers across the world.

Trashin' the Camp

Whilst the world shut down during the pandemic in 2020, Disney's renown A Cappella group DCappella invited a select few guests around the globe to a workshop with A Cappella legend Deke Sharon, and created a music video with those who were involved. Nathan is featured beatboxing alongside the incredible Antonio Fernandez, with their own vocal percussion break.

The Bones

After the cancellation of the 2020 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) season, Varsity Vocals gathered over 500 competitors from across the 24 years of tournaments to virtually perform together and raise money for musicians who had been adversely impacted by the global pandemic. Nathan contributes vocal percussion throughout the entire track.
